Weekend Survey

Blogging provides us with a unique ability to experience virtual community. I feel like I know some of you even though we haven’t actually met. Yet and still, if we were to meet face-to-face, I’ll bet there would be a few surprises. So the topic of this weekend’s survey will be: “Something you don’t know about me”.

Here is something you don’t know about me, I once worked as an apprentice brick-layer. Isn’t that exciting?

How about you? What interesting bits of trivia about your life are you willing to share?

God bless and have a great weekend.

    Gordon,
    Great thought.
I don’t know if I have shared this or not. When I was attending Boyce Bible School in Louisville, KY. I worked as a gardner’s helper at a Condominum/Townhouse community. It was for the great wage of $2.75 per hour. Minimum wage at that time i think was $2.35 per hour.

  2. Well, your tidbit about being a brick layer made think to share that years ago, before quitting work to raise a family I worked teaching severely emotionally disturbed teenagers …

this was a job where the police were regularly called, we (as in me – all the teachers) had to take them down regularly in the classrooms or halls, there were cameras everywhere monitoring everything and at one time or another every teen there spent time in a lock down room complete with prison doors and cinder block walls.

And I must say it was a blast … best job I ever had 🙂

    Have a 🙂 weekend!

  3. Bro. Gordon,

Do you want to share the good stuff or the bad stuff ?

The bad stuff I’m thinking about is ” that I didn’t have any horse theives in my family ” .

When I got married in 1962 I worked with the Winn-Dixie grocery chain . My weekly earnings when I got married was $47.50 ? When my oldest was born the company gave me a raise up to $55.00 a week !

The good part about the weekly salarys was the money stretched further then, than it Did when I had to retire in 2002 with an average weekly salary of about $675.00 per week ?

Blessings and see you Sunday .
    Ron.

  4. Hmmmm, something that you don’t know about me?

How about that I actually don’t really enjoy theological debates?! Hard to believe, huh? 😉

  5. My name is not really Nephos.

  6. I like asparagus. And was once an accomplished racquetball player. Now that’s hard to believe.

Cameron, what is your real name?

  7. Most of the time, I play the piano using only 9 fingers. When I was younger, I broke my right pinky and had to have a couple pins placed in it. Now, it won’t straighten out and has a touch of arthritis – so I just don’t use it if it hurts. 🙂

  8. I grew up working for a lawn mowing service called “My Three Sons Lawn Mowing”. I bet you can’t guess who the other employees were.

The great thing is that the money I saved during those eight years put me well on my way to graduating college debt free. “Thanks, Dad!”

  9. “Cameron, what is your real name?”

    Thanks. Thanks a lot.

Now I’ll have to change it. I’m thinking of something along the lines of Steve Sisk or Tony Sensenig. What do you think?

  10. I like Gordon. That’s a great name. Seems to carry a lot of authority and chutzpah with it.

  11. Yeah, Tony. You’ve got a great point. I’m working right now in a show with a child actor named Cameron who is 12 years old and sometimes acts about 7.

That’s all I’ll say about that 😉 hehe

  12. Tony, I always had you pegged as a man of discernment.

  13. Tony & Steve ,

I can’t be sure but I think Nephos might have been named after some horse theives dating back to the 16th century ?

    Ron.

  14. Horse thieves? What horse thieves? I know no horse thieves. 😉

  15. Ron’s not a bad name either. 🙂

  16. Thanks Tony,

I need all the help I can get , but I’m not sure if it would help the problem ?

Bro Gordon I’m talking about the words I heard straight from the Horses mouth ?

I was just asking do you suppose Nephos is related to them ?

    Blessings.
    Ron.

  17. Thanks for your visit, Gordon, and thanks for praying for Ella.

About me? I’m covered with freckles.

  18. I go away for a day and it gets ugly.

Tony said: “I like Gordon. That’s a great name. Seems to carry a lot of authority and chutzpah with it.”

The key word in your statement is “seems.”

Steve said: ” I’m working right now in a show with a child actor named Cameron who is 12 years old and sometimes acts about 7.”

It must be great to work with people you can relate to.

Gordon said: “Tony, I always had you pegged as a man of discernment.”

Don’t let this one incident disillusion you.

And Ron said: “I was just asking do you suppose Nephos is related to them ?”

Ron, the horse thieves are our more distinguished ancestors.

And blessings to all four! Hope you all have a great weekend of worship. 🙂

  19. Just wanted to stop in and thank you for your comment on my blog. I certainly covet your prayers….but now that I’m here I might as well play along…

I was born with 12 fingers and 12 toes as were two of my children.

Oddly it desn’t help my typing a bit. 🙂

  20. I have to say, Cameron, your comments are always a good source of laughs for me. Thanks for the great responses to all of us in this. I laughed very hard out loud when I read them! 🙂 Have a great rest of the weekend.

  21. I certainly must say that this has been one of the more interesting weekends in HH history. I appreciate everyone’s involvement. It has been very entertaining. 🙂

  22. Cameron,

Glad you’re a good sport. I was worried I had really upset you. Obviously my discernment was not working correctly…

God bless you all for a fine remainder of the weekend.

  23. Oh, and one more thing. Does no one like asparagus but me?

  24. me to love Jr. asparagus , and all the veggie tales 😉

    U guys are sooooooooo funny

  25. Cameron ,

I just want you to know that no matter what they said the Holy Spirit led me to say a little prayer for you !

” Lord Its Hard To Be Humble ” But I Love You Brother ”

Out of all the wonderful and tasty vegetables we are blessed with ” I hate asparagus “.

Bro. Tony I hope you work on the matter of ” concernment ” Since I looked it up in the dictionary ?

    Blessings.
    Ron.

  26. Thanks, Ron. I need all the prayer I can get.

Gordon, the asparagus beats the tulip. Who knew?

  27. Yeah, who’d a thunk it?

  28. Okay. I’ll play. I used to write lyrics and wanted to go into the music industry. 🙂

  29. My wife has been mistaken for my daughter on more than one occasion. It seems to be happening with greater frequency lately! Truth? She’s only 14 months my junior!

I had a pastor friend tell me that when it came to “marrying”, I really out-kicked my coverage. Thanks, Barry.

  30. Nothing like “friends” to keep us humble, huh?

  31. Pastor Tony, I have had the same problem. Except my wife isn’t even my junior at all! 😉

True story: My wife and son and I went golfing and I asked to rent two carts. The guy behind the counter looks at my wife — and he was dead serious — and says, “I’m sorry, you have to be 16 to drive a cart.”

  32. Follow these guidelines and you will build that new home with little, or no, problems. home improvement center can help…
